EC14 plus legacy anyone??

I am working out how to extend my quality lens list at minimum cost. I was wondering if anyone has tried using the EC14 1.4x with a legacy lens on the front?? What would a E510 make of that combination I wonder?

I was considering using it with my 11-22mm and my 50mm f2 - I figure they should work OK. However I also wanted to use it with my Tamron 90 and 135 lenses.

Re: EC14 plus legacy anyone??

Hi,

I've used it on a 400mm and 600mm and while we are not talking 90-250 quality, the results are as you would expect. This is one using the 600mm + 1.4 BUT consider it was Hand Held, Raining, on an E-500 (No IS) and is shown here "AS IS" with no Post Processing.

If you really need the reach and havnt got 4k spare it's an alternative. As with all photography, if you get the shot that no one else has

As soon as we get a half decent day, I'm taking this combination to the Bird Santuary and give it a good try out with the E-3

Have Fun

Re: EC14 plus legacy anyone??

Here are some shots with the Tamron SP 90mm macro and an EC20 on an e510, just taken so fading winter sunshine conditions. All ex camera.

Tamron full open at f2.5

Tamron at f5.6

Centre crop at f5.6

Incidentally I am thinking of selling the ec20 and the Tamron if anyone is interested. When I am sorted I'll put them in the For Sale section.

Following the above here is a comparision shot using the ZD 50-200 at f5.6 - 180mm. The light was changing rapidly so don't read too much into the colour shift.

and the crop:

Mmm (I am already a convert) but that Tamron 90 is a sharp lens.. I am so impressed with mine.

I might be interested in the EC20, but I suspect its outa my reach financially
