Re: My New Novel

Thank you very much for that review Peter.

Overnight it got to No 5 overall, and No 1 in police Procedurals and No 1 in Mysteries.

In the US is is No 305 overall and No 1 in Mysteries.

My computer is playing up just now so it's a bit frustrating.

Re: My New Novel

Excellent. Hope you enjoy.

I'm really pleased with my Kindle, partly because the house is so full of books and stuff that i really can't have any more new books. I have to sneak the charity shop bought ones in past Steambuff while he's not looking.

Lyn, for "Doing things" I have tonnes of craft books I get out for the children to make things from ; and my recent degree course in Early Years Education & Childhood - has books I now have to stick the stitched pages back in and the weight of these books is increased by all the bright Post It note tags ... I LURVE the smell of musty old book in a old house library ... it is an addiction ! hands up !

Re: My New Novel

I'm now glad I don't throw out a lot of my "junk" photos. I needed an abstract background for a friend's short story collection and found quite a few useful abstracts, not just for hers but say, for my next anthology.

Re: My New Novel

Linda I finally got curious looking at all these posts and downloaded a PC Kindle viewer and a free copy of Spiggs Wood this morning. Had a quick look and before I knew it I was hooked and late for work! I've hardly read any of it yet really but I am already feeling guilty for downloading it for free.

Re: My New Novel

Phill D don't feel gyuilty, just enjoy it. I've had someone return one... which means they probably bought it before the free promo, returned it, and have now downloaded it for free, which I understand but which has also made me feel uneasy. I don't mind people being about to return a book in the first 24 hours because it's easy to buy by accident, but I think it's mean to be able to return it after that.

I'm sorry you were late for work. YOu are not the first, and I wonder if I should put a warning up.

If you wish to assuage any guilty feelings, please tell people about it.

I'm contemplating putting it up free for a third day because being on the best seller front page is very precious.

Re: My New Novel

I have decided to do the promotion tomorrow as well. I don't think it will get to No 1 slot on the freebies, but being at No 3 all day has been very gratifying.

As soon as the free promotion stops, it drops, of course, but hopefully there will have been enough of a buzz to get people buying it after the promotion has finished..

Re: My New Novel

A four star US review.

Amazon Amazon

There aren't enough hours in the day. I haven't been out with the camera for ages. on the other hand, I might need to aim for a specific ohoto for the cover of my romance. Doing someone else's cover has crystalised my thoghts about abstract backgrounds. I might need some feedback re covers. It's been good for me because I'm still scared of Photoshop. Yet I get the feeling if I had the time to play around I would grow to love it just as I have grown to love my Olys.

Re: My New Novel

I'm anmazed at the reactions. Death in Spigg's Wood is (at the moment) on the front page of the Kindle Store fronting the crime, thrillers & Mysteries. It's also in the Movers & Shakers.

I need to get the next novel sorted out. Good job I took a photo for the cover when i had the chance.

I'm also chuffed because I used one of my abstracts for someone else's anthology.
