Water Droplets; My first go. Inspired by Peter Hartland

Inspired by Peter Hartlands drip shot I have been having a play this morning.

Nothing too complicated as far as set up goes. An upturned cullinder in the kitchen sink, a cereal bowl on top, the tap dripping into it and a piece of A4 orange card behind it.

All were taken with the E400 and 35mm Macro, hand held, on camera flash. The hardest part is timing trying to press the shutter whilst something interesting is happening.

I have read that adding different fluids and changing the depth of fluid has a massive impact on the outcome

I am quite pleased with my first attempts. I can see this easily becoming very addictive

Give it a go, it's great fun! Frustrating as I have about 90 shots of nothing, but fun!

You are off down a slippery path Tim, I've spent hours playing with this subject and can get the odd good result now and then but one of my camera club mates has got total hooked and purchased an electronic box of tricks (several hundred pounds worth) and can now produce stunning images, literally by the press of a button!

A good first set, have fun playing and lets see some more

Good stuff Tim. I can see you spending many long hours in search of that ultimate shot.

It is great fun Tim and you can get some fantastic results. Love the suspended drop in the last shot

It all starts with nice little drops, but before you know it, you will be dropping Red, Green, Orange & Yellow peppers into fish tanks, Strawberries into Cream (actually quite yummy as you really can't use them twice and it takes a lot of tries to get it right )

At his time of year there is always left over cream and chocolates, which has just given me an idea...

Have fun

Can't beat water for a subject. Do you ever get the perfect shot ? I think not, but a lot of fun trying.

Thanks all, I don't think I'll be investing any money in it just yet. It's something to do when it's dull and damp outside though.

Loving the fruity idea though Graham.
