More From The Show

The show was very dog orientated, both inside and outside the arena. It is, of course, a great event for the whole family including much loved four legged friends.

They do say people look like their dogs.

Back in the arena there was a sack race for children.

The show is split into two main areas. Away from the field with the arena is a large lawn surrounded by attractive old buildings on which a classic car show is staged and live bands play. With a tea room in a restored barn, a Pimms tent, ice cream van and BBQ it creates a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for young and old alike.

Dancing to the music.

A few of the cars on display.

Back at the arena, a vintage tractor makes its way home at the end of the day.

Re: More From The Show

Another splendid series of shots John. I like the matching hairdos in the first one. I wonder which came first - the dye or the dogs? Any idea what is the function of the knock kneed tractor in the last one?

Hi Ron, the tractor is a bit of a mystery. If the front wheels were any closer together it would be a tricycle!

I think it's for going down the furrows? Always fancied an old tractor. In fact, there's one in one of the barns here. I wonder ....

Yes, I just googled the tractor type and they were spaced that way in the 1930's to cope with the furrows of crops such as soybeans. Restoring an old trcator would make a great photo-project, Stephen!

Thanks Mark, it was great to see kids enjoying an old-fashioned activity that doesn't involve a touch screen!

Re: More From The Show

ooh, I've always fancied a tractor too. ideally a little grey and red Ferguson 35X from the early 1960s. X for extra gearing that gives you over 20mph flat out, as opposed to 14mph... With that you could actually drive it to the pub of an evening.

And take a short-cut home across the fields!

Thanks Ed, that was his show pass - a bit inconvenient of him to leave it under the wiper from my point of view!
