Lens cap for 70-300mm Zuiko...?
Hey All
Checking through my kit this morning and I notice the lens cap for my 70-300mm is gone!! I checked the car, my bag, the vicinity here at home where my gear is normally stored, and through the rest of the house - but alas not, the lens cap has gone walkabout! Anyone know where I can get a replacement please...? Never bought just the cap before, are they available in the usual in-town camera stores or do I need to look on eBay/online...? Ta

Re: Lens cap for 70-300mm Zuiko...?
Hi John
Not the best start to the week is it?!! Apart from eBay I'd try Warehouse Express (I got a lens hood through them in October) and I've noticed London Camera Exchange advertise quite a few Olympus lens caps too. Cheers Brian |

Re: Lens cap for 70-300mm Zuiko...?
There is a guy on ebay who may be able to help you, an Olympus seller but I cannot remember the exact name, ( at work ) but will find out when I get home. Expect to pay a lot more if you want Olympus written on it! Otherwise a standard cap should be readily available from many sources.
Must be frustrating though. Last edited by Scapula Memory; 18th February 2008 at 09:43 AM. Reason: Spelling |

Re: Lens cap for 70-300mm Zuiko...?
A standard 58mm lens cap from any supplier will fit - you can pick those up from any photo shop & most web suppliers if you don't care about having the advertising on the front. (hey they should pay us for that free advertising that we all do !!)
I tend to pick up plenty from 2nd hand shops when I see them as I moult them on a reasonably frequent basis. Look out for ones where the pinch is "inside" the lenscap if you leave the hood on a lot. Regards Andy

Here is one with a keeper leash.
http://ngvi.ebay.co.uk/vi?ngvi&backt...WvgzcXx2vPo%3D Fuji had these as standard when I used to purchase that brand. Regards. Barr1e |

Re: Lens cap for 70-300mm Zuiko...?
Some third-party lenscaps protrude so much that, if you want to put the hood on reverse, you have to do this before putting on the lenscap. I have one like that for one of my lenses - it's a bit of a faff.

Re: Lens cap for 70-300mm Zuiko...?
I have obtained one for £2.99 from my local camera store. All's well again and the lens is once more protected...
![]() Thanks for all your suggestions.
