Re: Autumn Jay
A super set Ron, and a cooperative Jay. We occasionally see them at WWT, but never in the garden...:=)

Re: Autumn Jay
Lovely shots we get them digging holes in the garden. They also mimic our cats crying .

Re: Autumn Jay
Super shots Ron.
We have Jays in the woods near us but I can't seem to get within 150 yards before they squawk and fly off how on earth did you get these shots? |

Re: Autumn Jay
Many thanks for all your kind comments.
Iain, this Jay was in a local park, so I suppose it is used to encountering people moving about. It flew up from the ground near me and perched in a tree. I slowly edged closer and was surprised that it didn't fly away. I took some shots which resulted in the first two images here. In fact I was a bit too close and I would have preferred more headroom in the shots. After a few seconds it flew off and landed on the ground where it proceeded to look for food. There are dozens of busy Grey Squirrels in the park and I wonder if it was looking for food which they had cached. Ron |
