We have Jays in the woods near us but I can't seem to get within 150 yards before they squawk and fly off how on earth did you get these shots?

Many thanks for all your kind comments.
Iain, this Jay was in a local park, so I suppose it is used to encountering people moving about. It flew up from the ground near me and perched in a tree. I slowly edged closer and was surprised that it didn't fly away. I took some shots which resulted in the first two images here. In fact I was a bit too close and I would have preferred more headroom in the shots. After a few seconds it flew off and landed on the ground where it proceeded to look for food. There are dozens of busy Grey Squirrels in the park and I wonder if it was looking for food which they had cached. Ron
