Re: Picture of the day

I would like to propose - By Stoates - "Just in Time 3"

So much photography is about rushing to catch the shot of an insect or bird or sport action !

THIS is about standing around waiting, cold and waiting, and waiting and cold until YOUR SHOT unveils itself before your very eyes !

I LURVE the lines of the sea ripples; the man and his boat and the sun reflection over the water! and that streak of orange in the top of the sky, is spread as Orangee Coulis by Chef in a 2 * restaurant !

Re: Picture of the day

I noticed we had nothing added today so I had a browse and came up with this one by ChrisW. I love texture shots but never get them right myself. I like this one because the thin sliver of sky makes it look like a surreal landscape.

Re: Picture of the day

This Bittern photo by Olybirder caught my eye. It's such a seldom seen, let alone photographed, bird it must be worthy of a place in this forum.

Re: Picture of the day

I saw this in another thread and think it is so clever and well executed that I thought I would add it here, in case anybody didn't see it.

Well done fridgemagnet, something different and rather beautiful.

Re: Picture of the day

Oops! we need a Picture of the last few days ... so here it is! Thanks to David Morison one of the MOST Beautiful birds in the UK "Kingfisher". I find it difficult to believe that "Kingfishers are NOT BLUE and its an optical illusion".

Re: Picture of the day

Yes great capture.....just love how they appear out of nowhere and then go just as quick.

NOT BLUE....well they are actually...that "green" is in fact called Kingfisher Blue...just a tinge off Turquoise Blue.

The feathers are grey though, the light turns them blue.

I love this, partly because I love the softness and delicate petals on all poppies but also because I think Snarmann has captured this perfectly.

Reminds me of this family of blue tits. This nest box belongs to someone in my local RSPB group (Middleton Lakes reserve which is opening to the public today).
I'm sure he won't mind me sharing this:
