Thanks Ed. It was 2.37pm (as in the EXIF) & wasn't an overly bright day (I think there might have been some cloud) & hence the ISO with the not very bright lens at that focal length.

These birds just come at certain times, chatter amongst themselves & move on when they please (or if spooked too much).

Very nice & typical of these birds (not necessarily needing aspirin though)! So you poms didn't just bring starlings & sparrows to Australia but took some of our colourful ones back with you too! They do brighten up the place with their lovely colours & add to the sound scape with their chattering.

Re: Another Rainbow Lorikeet visits again.

We don't have them wild here, so far as I know, but we do have wild parakeets which are now thriving, I will try and get a shot but they are very fast, do you know where they originate from?
I saw some over the park the other day mobbing a Heron...

Nice Ross. One of our birds that is aptly named.
With a gang of these in one of our trees, and Little Corellas in the next one - the chatter is deafening at times! . But all welcome visitors.

Re: Another Rainbow Lorikeet visits again.

Ross, nice shots of some wonderfully coloured birds. That one in your second shot seems to be having a bad hair day, no wonder he wants an aspirin.

Cliff, we have parakeets south of the river too. I managed to grab some shots of them in our cherry tree (posted last week) as it was a lot easier than catching them on the wing.

There are many birds from Australia & other countries that fit into the parakeet category as explained here.

Thanks Lyn. Yes, they can get quite noisy.

Thanks OM User. I only posted the one (1st) photo & Cliff posted the other two great photos of those classic mixed characters of birds.
