Advice please

Hello people
I have been taking a few pics in RAW, however when I try and to add them to adobe photoshop elements 5 it keeps saying that the photo is damaged or the file can not be read!

I can use the Olympus view program with no problem, is elements 5 out of date? Or is it me not doing things properly ?

Any advise please

Many thanks

Carl

Elements 5 is several years old now and I would guess that your camera is a newer model, so it's possible that the Elements 5 RAW support doesn't extend to your camera.

Which model camera are you using?

There are solutions to this if it's the case, but let's analyse the facts step by step.

Presuming that you are using the Windows version 5 of Elements, it is compatible with ACR 4.6 and earlier. The E-450 support was added with version 5.5 of ACR.

You can use the free Adobe DNG converter to convert your RAW files to the open standard compatible DNG format, which will then work with Elements 5.

You can download the DNG Converter from here:
