Rhodes it is.....

So continuing our journey into the Med and we've moved onto Rhodes which turns out to be a very nice walled ancient city.....again very hot and loads of people milling around, but some fab old buildings, so here's a selection of a few pics...

They seem to like painting steps here..

Just a few .....plus i'll add another shortly which I quite liked..

Cheers

Peter

BTW Hope i'm not boring you with these shots...

Re: Rhodes it is.....

Many old buildings and steps, here leading to the top of the walls around the city, I wonder how many have trod these steps ??

Cheers

Peter

Nice record shots for you to look back on in years to come. Looks like a very pleasant place to be and what strikes me is that the streets look spotless - no litter anywhere.

Re: Rhodes it is.....

Picture postcard city, lovely weather and spotlessly clean. Interesting views. Those steps oh no British HSE would have it closed no hand rail.

Re: Rhodes it is.....

In Britain they would have great lumps of unsightly cement to level them up

Rant over

Such a pleasure to see bright, clean buildings, they obviously don't have the traffic pollution that we do?

Re: Rhodes it is.....

Lovely set especially the multi coloured steps.

The worst toilets I have ever been in were both in Rhodes

Re: Rhodes it is.....

Thanks for the kind comments.....it was quite clean, but looking down some of the back streets there was a certain untidiness about them...it is of course a tourist area so best to keep it clean.

Those steps up to the wall were a bit unnerving, as at the top were a family from south America whose kids were running around without looking and as the surface was very uneven and no guard rails.... I thought....an accident waiting to happen, and I was more concerned about them knocking me off balance with my prized Olympus in my hand!!

H&S would have a field day over there, and no Alf I didn't get to use those toilets !! I saved myself for when I returned to the ship !

Re: Rhodes it is.....

This was the picture I was after when climbing the stairs.......then you can see the wall on the opposite side showing the unguarded sides and steep steps !!

Re: Rhodes it is.....

Wow! I love the scenery and as far as I am concerned you captured it well. Like the all the stairs, the ship and the ?bastion in the last one. I doubt I will ever make it there myself, so thanks for showing.
