Ah... I see now, it just flips up to the horizontal....

Hmmmm..... how will I know which model will fit the XZ-1 or E-PL1....?
....and will the VF-2 or 3 still fit?

The 2.8" model fits the E-PL1, it does not prevent use of the vf-2.

'hmm - clearance looks tighter on the XZ-1, so it may be a problem. That's where a good camera shop will help, they'll probably unwrap one and let you offer it upto the camera.

The ACMAXX one has a hardness rating of 5H: http://www.acmaxx.net/products_acmaxx.html

The GGS one, as high as 8H: http://reviews.davidleetong.com/revi...n-protector-2/

BUT... can I get a GGS that's custom fitted for the XZ-1 & E-PL1???

Looks like the GGS one will not fit the XZ-1 as review here from March:
Amazon Amazon

"There is nothing wrong with this item whatsoever, except that it does not fit the 3" screen on the XZ1.
The XZ-1 has a 3:2 horizontal/vertical ratio while most screens are 4:3 ratio.
It may well fit screens with the 4:3 ratio, but it does not fit the 3" screen on the XZ1.
I do hope that they come up with one that fits the XZ1 soon, because I really like the idea of the glass protector instead of plastic."

So, looks like the ACMAXX one is 2nd best and they do them to fit XZ-1 & E-PL1. 12.19 + 0.01p postage for the XZ-1 and bought with the E-PL1, another 6.09 + 0.01p post. 18.20 all in.

If only I knew who made the GGS ones I could contact them and ask if an XZ-1 one is on its way?

Yes,

The GGS one covers the view area of the XZ-1, and from top to bottom, but is 2.5mm short on each side.

I quite like the look of this one for 12: http://www.acmaxx.net/products_lcd_armor.html

Anyone with any ideas?

Specifically for the XZ-1, but maybe the E-PL1 too.

Thanks!

I haven't got my ACMAXX yet, but have just got something else that may interest you. It's the new slim version of the JJC-XZ1 Auto lens cap available from Amazon for 12.99. It protrudes approx. 5mm from the lens further than the original pop-off lens cap, but looks pretty good, stays fixed to the camera, and works perfectly with no vignetting.

Re: Recommend a good, easy to apply, screen protector please?

Finally plumped for the ACMAXX for my E-PL1 as it was only 6 posted from the US. Went on easily and sticks just around the edge of the screen.

It sits level with the rear of the record button on the back, so about 1.5mm thickness on the rear of the body.

What I do like is that whereas the screen proper is recessed into the body, leaving a nice ledge all round in which dust can gather, the ACMAXX seals the screen recess altogether.

Remains to be seen how it will perform and how scratch-proof it is, but at 6.....

Re: Recommend a good, easy to apply, screen protector please?

Here's some photos of the ACMAXX on my E-PL1 and the unprotected screen of my XZ-1 for comparison. One for that coming soon....

Doesn't seem to have any negative reflective issues.

Note the E-PL1 protector is slightly positioned to the right as there's a moulding to the left of the screen which drops away this side. Full screen can be viewed as the protector is slightly oversize, hence more of the screen surround seen to the right.
