More than 2x the light gathering capability hope the price is not twice as much as the 25mm 1.8. Does the market want fast primes = bulkier lenses, more expensive and more lens changes? Is this a subliminal attempt to keep loyal Oly users fit by making them use their feet to get the right framing.

If it does materialise I will be very surprised if it is not at least twice the price of the f1.8 , after all the 'Pro' lenses are built and engineered to a standard to keep/get the professional photographer on board. F1.2 lenses usually cost considerably more than an F1.4 and a 'heck of a lot more' than an f1.8.

The 25mm f1.8 is no slouch and will meet most enthusiasts needs, even many professionals. An F1.2 will be clearly aimed at the pro market and priced accordingly, not that Oly would turn away any 'well heeled' enthusiasts of course.

Kind regards, Simon

Re: Olympus 25mm f/1.2

Given the f/0.95 lenses that have been available for a couple of years this must be targeting users incapable of turning a focusing ring.

Re: Olympus 25mm f/1.2

Many complaints about noise at high ISO, so more light gathering should help. Will the punter pay the premium, that's the question.

Re: Olympus 25mm f/1.2

I doubt we'll get much change from £800, so probably 3-4x the price of the f1.8. Seems a bit pointless to me. We already have two other 25s in the system, one an f1.4. A fast 17mm with AF would make more sense IMHO.
