Well, I think they were wearing leather; but let us not forget: two Knights, two dead.

That's our Salisbury heroes you're talking about there Did you know that for a couple of years in the 60s DDDBM&T had more weeks in the charts than the Liverpool lot?

And Beaky is still at it, here he is last summer performing in Salisbury market square:

No problem John. It's often the case that threads on this great forum go off on a tangent to a completely different direction. Sometimes I look at the title, then cut to the last contribution and wonder what the heck's going on.

Regarding your pic of Beakey (has he got a big beak to justify the nickname?), there's quite a strong colour cast judging from the skin tone. Did you use AWB possibly. Quite frankly this sort of situation calls for HP5 or Tri-X pushed to 1600 or 3200 and developed accordingly. Great for getting gritty shots for subject matter such as this.

Re: Recognise them?

It's the curse of LED spotlights I'm afraid. For some reason lighting engineers are very fond of magenta, you don't really notice it in the flesh but it looks awful on photos and is practically impossible to correct. Red is worse, it completely flattens features - so much so that it is even apparent on B&W film (I used to use T-Max 3200 or the Ilford equivalent whose name I have forgotten).

Re: Recognise them?

Reminds me of this lot - a sculpture by Zourab Tsereteli outside the cathedral at Condom in SW France. Although it is a pretty little town, for reasons I can only guess at, Condom is not twinned with anywhere in the UK.

Condom used to be a popular tour destination for English rugby clubs, who would pinch the town sign as a souvenir. Quite a while ago, the French rugby team had a player called Jean Condom. This was at the same time that Jonathan Davies was doing amazing things for the Welsh team. At a match between the countries, one Welsh wit appeared on TV carrying a sign "Our Jonny is better than your Condom". I don't know how he could make that comparison as Condom was a lock forward and Davies a fly-half

There is an Athos String Quartet, based in Manchester, but I have not been able to ascertain whether they wear Aramis aftershave.
