One reason I like my EM- series cameras

is the fact that they help me make enough money to buy new "Toys"

This is one of my most commercially popular shots taken with my EM-5 + 60mm macro, a panoramic stitched from 18 separate frames, hand-held and with each frame overlapping by around 1/3rd

Its 6ft x 18 inches on matt canvas mounted in a "Floater Frame" (it will print up to around 12ft when in its full size, this one has had about 1/3rd cropped off the width to give a lower width : height ratio )

My client was so pleased that they invited us in to see how it looked and to take some shots of it (they also want some business cards to give to all their guests who they reckon will also be blown away by it)

Their brief was a focal point image of the area that would have instant impact - looks like its worked for them

What do you reckon?

Shot using the EM-1 with 12-40 using available light, with the window to the left, (as you can see )

Re: One reason I like my EM- series cameras

Thanks both, it was fun doing its as it was an experiment to see how the 60mm macro would work as a medium telephoto and, as you can see, the answer was pretty well .

Made my poor old PC sweat when it was processing the stitched image though

As for the investment of me, smallish profit, well, it may just go into my 40-150 f2.8 + TC fund

Re: One reason I like my EM- series cameras

I have seen the actual photograph at Brian's exhibition last year and can certainly vouch not only for it's Wow factor, but also the amazing detail at great distance on the horizon (many miles in fact).

I seem to recall that was made using the em-5 and the detail that the MZuiko 60mm lens is capable of resolving, really is quite remarkable. A very clever bit of real photography Brian and you deserve the success it has enjoyed.

It prompted me to buy a 60mm even though I already owned the Leica DG 45macro!

Re: One reason I like my EM- series cameras

Thanks Dave, I'd forgotten you came to our Red House exhibition where it was the centre-piece. It looks even better with the Floater Frame, which not only finishes it off nicely but makes it much stiffer and less prone to warp

You are right, it was that combo and you can indeed see the Water Tower in New Milton from the top of Hengistbury, which is at least 2 miles away (can't quite make out the brickwork detail though )

Aw, shucks Chevvy, it was indeed the day that we first met. I do remember it well but it was not your photo which is the OP of this thread!

But yes I well remember that day and the terrible disappointment I felt when you didn't turn up on your red Ducatti. Now that would have made a picture!
