Slik 88 parts

Hi I wonder if anyone can help on this? I have a Slick 88 tripod from around 1977 but one of the lower leg lever clamps is damaged and cannot be repaired. Does anyone know of a parts stockist for Slik? I have tried Introphoto 2020 but have not had a reply. It seems a shame to scrap the tripod as it is such a well built item. I must add that the damage was caused by me dropping the tripod, luckily the e-420 was not on it at the time.

Regards Dave.

Re: Slik 88 parts

I'll have a look in my garage tomorrow, I "may" have a slik 88 hiding in a corner, if it is I can send you the complete tripod at cost if you'd like it...

Re: Slik 88 parts

I have a Slik 88 in the garage that has all three bottom leg clamps split. I attempted repair with hose clips but it didn't work. Heard of this happening before without any accidental damage so it would appear to be a week point.

Dave & David, is the tripod anything like this one I got off the evilbay? ;

The top bit is the bit I like, the legs not so much, so broken-legged tripod might suit me fine for a conversion jobbie. I'd be making wooden legs.

Re: Slik 88 parts

Hi everyone and thank you for quick replies.

Pepper. That would be great if you find it. Please let me know the cost for shipping.

David, You may be right but in my case I am more certain it was caused by the sudden stop when it hit the concrete LOL.

Ulfric. Hi, and no is the answer to your question. The Slik 88 has square section legs and over centre lever locks.

Regards to all,

Dave

That head looks like an old D2 or D3 but the legs don't seem a large enough diameter for a D3.
