A beacon in the sea of political iniquity

Nominations for Australian of the Year Award closed on July 31.
I won't know if I personally have been selected to receive the award until the results are announced. Chances are I've got Buckleys.
But being an admirer of he who believes that we the people have a right to know and has laid his freedom on the line to that end, I nominated Julian Assange.

He is a polarizing character and I am interested to hear how you perceive him.

Alternating current, maybe?

Positive by his exposure of war crimes perpetrated by the US military.
Negative for pretty much everything else.

Re: A beacon in the sea of political iniquity

Thanks to TimP and drmarkf for commenting, and also to the silent 260+ who didn't.
It has given me a sense of how Assange is perceived in Britain.
I will update as further developments unfold.

Meanwhile, FYI, here's a link to an entertaining topic upon which I invite
no commentary other than an optional, non-incendiary silent "Like".

Can’t like or otherwise as all I get is a banner type page offering me a download of an app to watch something on. Sorry.

Thanks Phill but you'd have to be an Aussie to nominate me - and even then I'd never really know whether you'd nominated me, or that Fiddler Fella!

Tim, this is the page offering to download an app to view ABC Four Corners "Podcasts". You're probably full up to the
teeth with Brexit, but this podcast is what we downunder have been watching. It is not in any sense partisan, just good journalism.
Takes less than a minute to download, but you can view a clip of the program without downloading the app. Just click Play and away you go.

Let me say, I don't have a view on Brexit as I did three years ago. With Boris at the helm, I have no idea how it will all play out.
This program ends by posing the question, "Is he a genius or a charlatan?". Next week's episode explores that question with an in depth profile.

The only thing not 'tanking' in the U.K. at the moment is Johnson's opinion of himself!

That pales into insignificance compared to the orange idiot in the former colony.

America to large to defy? (Not great news for a post Brexit trade deal to save our nation)

It's difficult to know what exactly to believe or not these days, but we should all be very worried about what is considered to be acceptable in our names.
