The Hamble

A delightful walk and plenty to photograph in a photography day out.

Old buildings ; Yachts and other floating transport ; seashore ; wildlife.

a delightful Kiosk with Tea, coffee and Ice Creams too or a rather smart Thai Restaurant

Re: The Hamble

Yes, another lovely 'salty' scene from your EM-1, Chevvy.

If I'm allowed to be a bit 'picky', I think you have framed it a tad too tightly ... more air around it would have not cropped the signage and allowed for some adjustment to the verticals.

But now I've probably gone spoiled your walk and day out.

Re: The Hamble

Not at all Mark

above the sign were lots of various roof pitches = ugly old house, extended with attic and loft rooms hence I cropped it there, to keep the pretty bits !

I have the original with ugly bits #, so may post later

Re: The Hamble

Well I said I was being 'picky', Chevvy ... it's fine the way you've shot it (sans ugly bits! )

Re: The Hamble

Mark, the Hamble is a nice river filled with £'s zillions of private owned yachts do you remember you reworked mine of lots of masts, and yachts - their halyards slapping the masts in the wind ? a year ago ?

Same place

I just picked this "shop" today ... not found the "whole shop" image yet

PS your never "picky" and your opine is valued by me

Re: The Hamble

Hi Chevvy,

You've done rather well with your crop to isolate the interesting and picturesque part of a rather cluttered scene.

Re: The Hamble

In both shots the two almost vertical arrows are too bright and become distractive pointers to some non existent item.

However that is only a comment, and only my untutored opinion

Thanks John, my first image posted was not a crop per say, I just got closer when framing the shot (after seeing the grotty mould on the cream wall ... and the cream wall and roof added nothing to the image, I felt )

Hi Derek, I think they are Mooring blocks, to "tie up" on ... I had not really "noticed" them but the white arrow on each, could be cloned out ? maybe

Re: The Hamble

Do not clone them out just darken the white arrows so they are not the brightest items (almost) in the picture.
