Swap my E520 plus lens for your E-30 body

Hi guys,
With the new 14-54Mk2 in my kit bag, I am now looking at upgrading my body. With an absolute shoe string budget, I have decided to swap my E520 for the E-30 if anyone has one.
Basically for a good well kept e-30 body, I am offering

My 1.5yr old Olympus E520 body plus the 14-42mm Lens. In addition I have the BH-E51R (new version, no battery drain) grip from Own user to add to the bundle. This also comes with a AA power pack box (no AA Batteries), plus 4 BLM-1 Batteries. 1 orginal and 3 aftermarket, but barely 3 months old. The batteries are used as two sets on the grip which is always on the camera. The Ownuser remote (can be used for shooting from front or rear of the camera) is included as well.

I am happy to get the camera serviced before the sale, as I still have 6months warranty on it (and servicing is free within the warranty period). Though the camera does not need any servicing and is perfect for shooting, I can do the needful if some1 so desires.
In additon, I can bring another £100 cash to the table for the swap.

Anyone interested please PM me. My main reasons to upgrade to the E30 are
-Articulated screen
- More focus points
- Hopefully (debatable) better low light shooting due to different sensor! I plan to pair this with the 14-54 and try 800 ISO gig photgraphy at 1/80-1/125th shutter speed at f2.8

I can collect and do the swap in person if need being. Berkshire area or Manchester/Liverpool area!

Many thanks

Good luck with the swap......you are going to need it as the E30 is a better camera than the E520.

Even with the 14-42 lens and a hundred quid its not worth with im my opinion.

Nice try! I'll swap my E30 with the ZD 14-42 for an E5. Any takers?

Re: Swap my E520 plus lens for your E-30 body

Many thanks for everyones response...I can see all of you have all the time in the world to provide irrelevant information and spoil some one elses thread. This is a FS/FT thread. I believe the answers I was expecting were, Id swap it but would need £xxx instead of £100 etc etc...

I guess, spoiling someone elses FS/FT thread is completely acceptable now. Many thanks for the clarifications.

Any one with any serious offers or want to negotiate a swap feel free to PM me.

Now I know we live in a politically correct world ... but when humour evaporates then it is a sad sad sad world.

Re: Swap my E520 plus lens for your E-30 body

Humour is one thing, and a realistically helpful thread/response is one. My logic was pretty simple..
E520 plus lens sells for £200-£220
Ownuser grip sells for £50
Total so far is £270, plus £100 cash.. is £370. I believe an E3 was sold for around £420 and so a £50-£80 increment in cash asking was foreseen, but is part of any negotiation. Not sure how people see the humour in such an offer!

By the so called "humuor" you might have put off any slim chance of anyone responding back to the deal. I have accidently spoiled a thread in the past, which made me realise how unnecessary it really is.

To be very honest, your offer is very optimistic, but even so, I think some of the sarcasm here is out of keeping with the site.

So guys, if you aren't interested or have no useful input to give, then just let it be please?

Thanks,

Ian

Sorry Ian & unileeds, point taken.

My best suggestion would be to try & sell the E520 kit for as much as possible (keeping your ZD 14-54 II lens of course) & look for an E30 bargain. There have been some being sold from new E5 owners looking for cash too. unileeds, the points made in your opening post in favour of the E30 make the E520 look less than desirable (especially for a swap). I have both & the E520 is a nice camera, but the E30 is a lot better in many ways. I got the ZD 14-54 II lens 12 months before the E30 & enjoyed using it on the E520. The point I would make in favour of the E520 is, it makes a reasonably light outfit with the kit lens & is great for day trips when anything heavier would get in the way. The Ownuser grip would add some weight but allow an all day shoot without changing batteries (& give the added portrait hold function).

Again, sorry for taking the Mickey out of you, but that's just one of my failings I guess. Hope you have success in upgrading.

Re: Swap my E520 plus lens for your E-30 body

Many thanks guys. I didn't want to come across harsh or anything, and I have realised most of the people on this forum all mean well and good. I am quite desperate to upgrade my body to the E30 and hopefully in 9 months time look at a 35-100F/2 as well. But it is all for a hobby which is not a cash spinner so I am trying to be as cheap as possible.

Anyone going for the E5 and want to swap their E30 for a E520 body+lens, let me know what you'd like for it and I might be able to save you the 10% (atleast £50) ebay fees!!

Many thanks..
