Bridges across untroubled waters.

After picking up my 7-14 Pro lens today (on a special sale for the Olympus 100 Year Anniversary weekend) I stopped in Penrith to get this view across the Nepean River.

Re: Bridges across untroubled waters.

Nice clear photo Ross. Not sure what holds up the nearest bridge, looks like its floating on the air. I am about to receive a 2nd hand 7-14mm Pro, so look forward to using it soon. Mind, its gotta stop raining before that...…..

Yes, at 7mm & wider when cropping (to 3:2) in Capture One as there is further image area available.

This is the start of the Penrith side (right side of the above) taken soon after opening last year. I guess I'll just have to go back again for a better shot (but doubt I'll get clouds as good though).

Hope you have fun when you get it. My kids sent me on a seminar with Ken Duncan & since his claim to fame is his landscapes, my wife was half prepared for me to come asking when this great sale came (even though she had told me I'm not buying anything this year). Maybe the thought was I have to get out for landscapes instead of staying at home pointing a lens at birds in our backyard (right now I'm at home looking after the dogs while wife & daughter are away sightseeing).

Yes I have been to Ken Duncan's Studio in NSW. Cannot quite remember where. I have one of his photos on the wall. A seascape. He is an amazing photographer………..

E-M1 II & 7-14 f2.8 lens.

Lovely photo Ross! But I must take issue with you that you are a BAD influence. - I have just ordered a 7-14mm f/2.8 PRO too! Hopefully pick it up tomorrow (Saturday). The discount must be somewhere between 25% and 30%!

Re: Bridges across untroubled waters.

On my one and only trip to Wales in July 2016, I returned to an old university friend's home in Blackheath to fly out to Brisbane the next day. My friend asked me how the trip had gone. I replied "Great! The country was beautiful. The locals were friendly. Just a pity that it rained so much."

His reply: "Funny that! It rained in Wales???"

Thanks Larry.
Of course, you could pick up another E-M1X for $3,199.20 or E-M1 II at $1,679.20 while you're at it.
Mind you, I sent an email to my daughter away with my wife (just up the coast) to ask if she'd entertain the prospect of me getting the lens & I got the phone call this morning to put me out of my misery to go & buy it. I didn't question the decision. I wasn't supposed to be buying anymore gear this year.

I hope you get lots of fun out of your lens too.

Ken Duncan's Gallery is in Erina Heights, which is near Gosford. Yes, he is an amazing photographer & a nice guy too.

Did you see the photo of the seminar? I'm up the back, camera at the ready & looking a little hunched over. It was an all day seminar after all, but the food was plentiful & nice. https://www.facebook.com/kenduncanph...type=3&theater It was held in his church which is actually a converted industrial building.

If you were in Blackheath here in the Blue Mountains (NSW) you would probably prefer to call it Bleakheath.
My daughter has visited my cousins in Wales a couple of times (but I haven't been at all). Photos I see of them outdoors are in 'fine' weather (not raining). Probably because they stay indoors when it's wet.
Speaking of which, we are enjoying a little rain at the moment. The photo was during a fine break today.
