On the street

Out today in town with the EM1 and the fantastic PanaLeica 25mm f1.4, great combo for street work (when it is planned and I want to leave the EPL5 at home).

Dull and overcast day and quite a few people trying to get their Christmas shopping completed without overspending, tired and fed up faces abound!

The aftermath

Had to finish with a Christmas Wreath - Happy holidays one and all.

Re: On the street

More classic street work, Ian. Is No 1 chewing a wasp or just pleased to see you?

No 3 is my favourite, with the elderly couple in the foreground against a background of predominately youger people.

The sketeton was begging to be photographed!

Happy Christmas.

Re: On the street

Thanks John,
It was a good day as people were looking frustrated, tired and in a hurry and not in the Christmas spirit so not dressed up in Christmas hats, jumpers.
Not a case of Ho ho ho more a case of No no no with crying children not getting what they wanted!
The skeleton just appealed to me as I bet that is how many felt after shopping!
Happy Christmas to you too.

Re: On the street

Ian, is this Circencester ?
Must visit old Aunt and Cousins ...

I lurve the one below the old couple - girl wistful, in pose even though face unseen ... I feel she is waiting for someone, who has gone to buy that "last" gift ... and she is so fed up - she is not EVEN looking at her smartphone ...

The Wasp chewing lady in the first cracks me up !

Happy Christmas to You Ian and your family and the best of all for 2014 ... ps mono suits the "mood"

Hi Chevvy,

Yes it is Cirencester and I am sure it has not changed much since you last visited!

Thanks for the comments, it is a good time of year for street as people are too busy shopping or arguing to notice me............ Well most of the time but not where the lady on the seat with her shopping was concerned!

I hope you and the family have a fantastic Christmas and New Year and that 2014 brings you all you desire.

Re: On the street

Nice set Ian. I especially like the third one, I think because it has a line that takes you through the people on the bench and out of the scene via the people in the background.

cheers

Re: On the street

Thanks Hec & Tom,

I did use the bench as the initial lead in line on No.3 and I feel it also serves to divide the image into two halves using the old man as the central focal point.
