Smile An owner as of today!

Got the E-M1 Mark 2 today with the 12-40 PRO. Its a very steep learning curve for a Pentax user like me! Soon to be ex-Pentax user of course. Only real dislike so far is the online manual, oh and the incredible battery price for a genuine BLH1 ( I got two extras). Apologies in advance for any apparently stupid questions I will be asking.

Re: An owner as of today!

Congratulations on your purchase.
Yes, the batteries are a horrible price, but they do seem to last quite well. So far I've only had one occasion where I've needed to use a second battery, which was on a particularly cold day during which the battery ran down very quickly.
My only dislike so far is the overly complex menu system which take a bit of getting used to. But at least the Super Control Panel (page 50 in the manual) is similar enough to the Pentax equivalent and it takes care of most of the settings you're every likely to want to change.
Have fun learning the new system.

Re: An owner as of today!

A nice early 60th birthday present! I had the manual printed online at A4, very handy and well worth a tenner. Welcome to the forum.

For me, one of the reasons for changing to Olympus. Size is not everything!

My first picture, quickly taken with most of the toys switched off for now. Love the camera, hate the menus!!
