Lightroom world very well for me. It even handles the Hi Res mode raw files.

Have ps cs3 extended .worked fine with Nikon raw but not with Olympus , so looks like i need to upgrade, May try Lightroom again, tried it many years ago and it never stuck with me, Just tried the DXO free trial but it has gone all automated and i do not like software to tell me how my files should look .
All i want is a histogram and a few sliders to adjust my raw files then convert them to jpeg or tiff..

To just look through the images, I use FastStone (which I believe uses Adobe DNG to access RAW files)

For full "processing" I use DxO Optics Pro Elite and PS if I need it.

I, too, use FastStone for general editing, just watch it doesn't automatically save everything as Jpg, check the box when you do save your images.

I'll make a vote for Capture One Pro 9. Others here like it too.

EDIT: And they 'Liked' my comment too.

Just remember that when you use FastStone to view a RAW file you are only seeing the embedded jpg. To see the full size file, press "A" and it will then open the full ORF file. This of course will then need to be "processed" to get it to how you want it to look.

Have fun...

Lightroom for me. As well as adjusting Olympus ORFs, I find it good for printing, making simple web albums and image management.

you can change the setting but it does slow it down - also there is not a lot of real RAW processing power in faststone

Personally I recommend DXO as others have already done
