Moonrise at Sunset (in Broken Hill)

From the car park of the Broken Earth Reastaurant (& large bench chair) on the top of the slag heap in Broken Hill (NSW).

And Setting Moon at Sunrise (through our bedroom window in Broken Hill).

I kept the last one down to ISO400 for a cleaner shot (leaning on the window sill) as the first glimmer of light from the not yet risen sun shows in the sky.

Thanks Chevvy. For the first one, it was a hurried grab as soon as we got to the top of the hill & for the others I was only waking up enough to point the camera to the window.

Ah, thanks Mark. It is a little similar to a CD cover a local flautist produced.

Re: Moonrise at Sunset (in Broken Hill)

Ross I am liking the first image a lot. Good composition and the geometric shapes, including the rectangular sky space, the long rectangular wall broken down into smaller rectangles, along with the circles from the moon and reels make for a good picture. Interesting.

Re: Moonrise at Sunset (in Broken Hill)

I too like the shapes in the foreground of No1 Ross, and the subtle colours.
We have clambered up onto the Big Seat! I took a photo for my "Big" collection. I love those Broken Hill sunsets.
