Re: So who actually has an E-M1x?

I would have been tempted by an E-M1 X if I didn't already have the Mark 2, which I am pleased with and delivers good results. So in that sense I have already saved 3k.

Instead I am in the processing of setting funds aside to finance the yet to be released 150-400. Final decision pending price point...

I've decided I will get the 1X in the near future.

Thanks for posting the link

Re: So who actually has an E-M1x?

I had a couple of days with one at Thruxton and TBH for motorsports didn't see any advantage over the EM1-II, in fact I preferred to use my EM1-II due to the size and weight. The only thing that I liked with the EM1x over the EM1-II was the ability to review images straight away rather than waiting a relative eternity when burst shooting on the EM1-II.

I'm sure there are scenarios where the EM1x will out perform the EM1-II but not for my type of shooting.

For any that aren't aware, Andy Rouse runs photo safaris, workshops and expeditions. Went to Svalbard with him, superb even though he was a Canon ambassador at the time he didn't care what kit we had!
Whenever I hear of him my initial thoughts are folk are talking about the ex touring car driver

Re: So who actually has an E-M1x?

I got mine at launch for a good price and I'm very happy with it. I did worry about the extra weight, but I have got used to that very quickly. The main thing for me is that it is so responsive - everything is immediate and you can change settings while the buffer clears. There are so many buttons available that I haven't even set them all up. With wildlife it is great to be able to change settings so fast. C-AF performance is better than the EM1 Mk2, but it's hard to say by how much. It would be good if some of the features like the 25 point AF pattern made their way to the Mk2.

I haven't used the AI tracking much apart from an airshow where it worked well. http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showthread.php?t=50506
I should post more images on here, but I tend to put them on Twitter first these days: https://twitter.com/lynher/

Thanks Mal. It's good when they come close and the EM1X did a great job of grabbing the focus.

Re: So who actually has an E-M1x?

Also have one. Way more responsive than my old E-M1 MK I.

Still happy with it and still learning how to get best out of it.

Re: So who actually has an E-M1x?

I've got one. Took advantage of the July offer, WEX threw in a Macro lens for free and discounts on batteries and SD cards.
It took me a good 18 months before I was really happy with my previous camera and I expect to find the same with this.
The handbook for the EM-1 MkII is 270 pages, for the EM-1X 683 A lot of reading!
