Re: Waxwings

Well spotted, hopefully we may all get a chance to catch some this year.
Love the berry in the beak.

Re: Waxwings

Nice, had some of these in the local area a couple of months back. Whenever I saw them though the light was very poor.

You have caught their colours nicely.

Thanks, yes the light was quite poor, this was the only half decent shot out of several dozen I took before the rain set in.

Re: Waxwings

They really are pretty birds - I never knew they had a yellow tip on the tail.

Re: Waxwings

I've no idea why, but for some reason the photo made me realise I've never seen a flock of Waxwings in Canada. I've seen pairs in the spring and family parties in the late summer/autumn but no flocks in the winter.

Re: Waxwings

It's been quite a good winter here in the North West of England for waxwings, but what with work commitments I have struggled to see them and when I have the weather has been against me. This was a flock of 22 birds, but the light was atrocious.

Waxwings in Stafford and Cheadle this weekend, not sure if these are close enough to you going of your profile?

Great birds to see if you get the chance.
