You've been 'barging' it, on the Broads...? Anywhere near?

You are looking out of the side hatch of a narrow boat! If i`m right then the chances are you are on a canal somewhere, so that rules out the Norfolk Broads! However looking at the water it does look like there is a current!, which would rule out any canal! So I don`t bl***y know!

I got it! You are looking out of the side hatch of a narrow boat on the river Medway!

Re: guess what I've been doing - and where?

having kept a boat on the lower Medway I can never remember that view..........

wavelets don't necessarily mean a current, but being on the 'levels' there was a slight flow from time to time when a lock was operated. negligible really.

a short week on the Oxford canal was our introduction to the delights(?) of narrow boating - courtsey of a recent purchase by my sister. all was going really well until about 24 hours after this was taken when I stepped off the boat, put my heel in a hole and tore the gastrocnemius....oh joy!

My guess was`nt bad then! Canal boating is certainly very relaxing! I own a motor boat on the Great Ouse which I often take out into the wash & round the east & south coast & have also crossed the channel on it, but her indoors keeps banging on about selling it & getting a narrow boat instead!

Re: guess what I've been doing - and where?

indeed - mine's at Poole with a general cruising ground of Chichester/Weymouth/St Malo/Cherbourg.

whilst I had a good few days in good weather on the canal I think it's better suited to poor weather boating than any other I have tried!

yes that's mine, but it's a Faeton not a Nimbus

more fisher than cruiser but I make the most of it with camper canvas and outdoor catering!
