Re: Win a 1100 Olympus DZ ED 7-14 superzoom - the details are up

I presume it is so the final 10 can be printed to be judged by the "top photographer".
Unless they are simply expecting such high quality prints that Ian wants a copy of them for his walls...?

I guess Ian means that you need to have a 'printable' version of the image ready for download and by this one means at 240 or greater dpi rather than at 72dpi for displaying on the web.

Just a guess.

No, I'd imagine Ian would want images in JPG file format.

Phew - thanks. No probs then

Not that it'll happen - I've more chance of winning the lottery - and I don't even do that

Once the word goes out there'll be all the best togs on these sites plus from many other places too eager to nab that beautiful lens. I can dream though

Re: Win a 1100 Olympus DZ ED 7-14 superzoom - the details are up

I think we all have a chance - I recently entered a challenge elswhere and by a sheer fluke my finished pic looked out of an ad agency. I have to confess though there are some pretty good shots I'm competing against. If I make the top ten I'll show it on the site.

So unless you enter you will never know.

If the winner already owns the lens can they have the 300mm f2.8 instead?

Only images taken on an Olympus camera are eligible though aren't they...?

Absolutely there are... many of them. I reckon there will be some awesome entries in this comp... Heather for one is a determined little lass who will go all the way to get her shot...

Hmmm, I wonder, maybe Oly is trying to get the Pro photographers to buy into the E3. Just a thought.

Don't let this thought put you off though. I think I shall give it a whirl. In football, the Prenier League clubs do not always have their own way.

Good point about the E-3 Peter

I'm gonna have as go - it's my only meagre hope of ever using a lens like that. lol

Looks like the competition is gonna be tough though seeing Heather's determination

Thanks for all the info, I'm glad I'm not the only person asking questions.

It's a fabulous prize, it's going to make one Olympus user very happy. I hope it's somebody from either here or the other forum though, rather than somebody who's only joined so they can try to win.

What exactly does that mean?

Apologies in advance if this is a really noddy question but I've never entered a photo comp before
The first stage of the process to decide the winner will be a site member vote. all entries will be featured in a competition photo gallery and you will be able to vote for you favourite images. The gallery will be similar to the current users gallery and will only require screen resolution images to be submitted.

The ten top images from this stage will go through to the final stage and they will be judged in printed form. So the finalists will need to supply a full resolution file that we can print it (I suppose you can supply your own printed file if you prefer).
