A wet day at the beach

Used a recently given tip. If its good weather go for thebig expansive stuff, if its rubbish go in close.
A recent dreich day at Findhorn beach, fog turning to scotch Mist.
I usually look for pebbles and sand but found a battered washed up Scots Pine instead.
Spent about an hour mucking about with it. Here's an example.
Thoughts please.

Re: A wet day at the beach

It's intriguing but to my eyes perhaps too inexplicable to fully work (at least at the size of the link - who knows what a large print would show?).

I think someway of showing the context would help me.

Interesting

Re: A wet day at the beach

What you see here is no more than 12"x9".
The reddish bit is the heart wood which has been exposed by the sapwood being removed (possibly before ending up in water).
The 'pen marks' are the faint vestiges of the 'scales' of the pine bark.
I'll put together something that may put it more into context.
I just liked the abstract swirly patterns. I suppose it goes with my wooly outlook.
