Don McCullin in the Graun, yesterday

The Guardian had a bit of a Don McCullin day, yesterday. They presented some of his photos:

Don McCullin: 'photography isn't looking, it's feeling' in pictures

(I love the bleak landscapes, BTW)

And also a Q&A session with the readers.

I was impressed by the selection of questions. Equipment wasn't mentioned once (other than he shoots with a wide lens and likes to get close). Nor was the whole analogue vs digital debate covered (we know he uses digital, begrudgingly, but is at best ambivalent towards it). Instead we get a discussion that covers his life as a photographer, wartime experiences and photography as art (and vs art). Enjoy!

Wonderful. Many thanks for posting these.
I was immensely moved by his exhibition at Salford Quays a few years ago, to tears in fact.
One interesting segment of his work is missing here: after retiring he first did some great work for an AIDS charity. Not surprising, really, that he then moved to personal landscape images.
