40-150 Pro two extra contacts?

I have noticed that my 40-150 Pro lens has two extra contacts on the lens mount. It has the normal 11 gold contacts but there are two silver ones as well. There are no corresponding contacts on my E-M1 camera so I would be interested to know what they are for.

Do not have one but wonder if the converter uses these contacts.

I have wondered about these two too. If there are no corresponding contacts on the Em1 then maybe its successor might make use of them.

Re: 40-150 Pro two extra contacts?

There is one extra contact on the front of the MC-14 converter which looks as if it will mate with one of these. There is no corresponding extra contact on the back. I suppose we could have fun speculating what effect it has, and whether the extra contact on the lens suggests that a 2x converter might be on the way......

That is a good suggestion. I had not noticed the tiny contact on the converter.
None of my other lenses have the two extra contacts. When the long awaited 300mm f4 arrives it will be interesting to see if it has the extra contacts as I understand that it will be able to use the converter.
