Re: R.I.P Gary Moore

Yes, my favourite guitarist since I saw him play with Thin Lizzy at the Hammersmith Odeon in '79 (I was a kid then).

Seen him play several times over the years as a solo artist, including notable performances at the Royal Albert Hall and with BB King at Birmingham.

To this day i have wanted to see him play in Belfast to his home fans. Guess I never will now. Saw him play at the Shepherds Bush in October 2009. Didn't think that would be the last time...

RIP Gary Moore. A great blues guitarist.

Re: R.I.P Gary Moore

I was only watching the program about Thin Lizzy that was on BBC4 the other week last night.
Didn't realise Gary Moore had been in and out of that band so many times.

The only time I saw him was when he played jazz rock with Colosseum2.

Great guitarist.

Re: R.I.P Gary Moore

I remember him chiefly for his brief BBM stint with Ginger Baker and Jack Bruce.

Why was he always switching bands so much, was he difficult to get on with?

RIP

Re: R.I.P Gary Moore

I remember seeing Gary playing in the original Skid Row in 1971 I think it was.
An exceptional blues guitarist - quite a shock seeing this sad news earlier.

I'm still stunned - he was my favourite guitarist. He'll be sadly missed by a lot of people indeed.

So sad. I used to listen to his radio show on Planet Rock. He was incredibly knowledgeable and really interesting to listen to.
