Encouraging words from him.

I got to play with one again (after the first play at Olympus Australia, Macquarie Park), with the time being one on one with the Olympus guy at Penrith Camera House (NSW) last week as it wasn't wasn't advertised much, following a Coffee with Olympus early evening session. Anyhow, he had the 12-100 lens on it so I pointed it at people & things outside the shop (I should have ventured further) plus I was able to save the images to look at on my PC (so long as I didn't put them up on the web before the cameras hit the market). In the heat of moment I didn't think to save a HHHR image though. Since I'm only likely to ever own one if I won it, I asked to try his 300 F4 lens on my E-M1 Mk II although I ideally would prefer a zoom, I think I am going to save for this rather nice lens (except I might get the MC20 first).

Maybe it's a truthful and unbiased review, but I did note this footnote on his page:

I am delighted to announce in their 100th anniversary year Olympus have invited me to become a Mentor. You can see some of my images taken with their cameras and explore the Olympus Image Space here https://www.olympus-imagespace.co.uk...david-tipling/
However, it doesn't take anything away from his work or credentials!

It is a fantastic lens, but it looks like Olympus have a 100-400mm on the plan, so it might be worth waiting for that.

Yes, but when? I had noticed it there but I fear it will only be something like the 75-300 lens with weather sealing but not Sync IS capable.
