Re: So what do you think about the E-P1?

I'm very glad they've gone for quality. I was worried they'd go for mass marketry alone. I've been waiting, and intend to get one, although I shall maybe wait a bit longer for the promised EVF development of it.

It's still a bit big for a pocket camera but otherwise very convincing and desirable. I'm happy with hotshoe flash but less happy with hotshoe one-lens viewfinder and slow AF. Everything else looks very good.

I'm also waiting for the E3 successor as well as the EP-1, and have been sticking to my E520 meanwhile, buying glass, and ignoring the E30 and 620. I see every reason to keep to those plans.

Question Re: So what do you think about the E-P1?

I posted an idea in the lounge before reading this thread fully...

I'd like to see a one eyed HMD produced that acts as a viewfinder. OK it would look a little strange, but not too much more than having a bluetooth headset stuck in your ear with flashing blue lights.

I've just had another thought, with this on people would think you were reviewing your images, but you could also be using it to do candid shots.

Assuming that the Interface streams liveview ???

"Combined V & USB output - Yes NTSC or PAL selectable"

The pricing:

E-P1 body 599 body only (guide price?)
E-620 body 499 (SRS Microsystems)

I know which I would take................

And if you shop around you can find the E620 bundled with the 25mm pancake for 615 - which makes it very stiff competition for the P1. Especially as there is no adaptor needed to fit my existing 4/3 lenses
