"initiative of Olympus UK and they pay for its operation"

Ian

Can you get Olympus to actually have a person that answers questions or leads discussions - that way the site would have a USP and so get increased traffic.

Having a real Oly product expert that has the ability to feed information back to Japan would be most reassuring.

or perhaps Oly see that person as you?

Part of the raison d'etre of the site is to form an exclusive short-cut to Olympus UK resources. So that is already a unique selling point. It's very difficult for an Olympus person to join in directly here as they would have no time to do anything else.

The topics discussed are sometimes very complex and need reference to resources in Japan. I can also be the liaison there.

I, too, have lots of other things to do, so if I miss certain interesting questions, please don't hesitate to PM me. Either I can answer them myself or I cand attempt to find answers from UK, Europe, or Japan-based people. Sometimes, for commercial reasons or simply because an answer is not known, questions can't me answered, so please bear this in mind.

Ian

It's still more than a week to go before the end of the month and we have already reached last month's total for page views

Re: Almost 450 members...

Ian

The types of information I would like to see direct from Olympus are:

Olympus Europe operations - eg why does it take a week or more for an item sent in for repair to get registered on the Olympus tracking system.

How come they were short of parts for repairing E3s and were waiting 3 weeks or more for them in February.

Why are all repairs etc based on a 3 week turnaround time (or more).

When we read of repairs being turned round in less than a week in the US.

The philosophy of the design of the E3 eg

The camera designers have provided 11 focus points, why, how do the designers expect the users to exploit these features.

I am sure that there are many other visible but hard to understand features built in to the E3 that at the moment we are dependent on individuals discovering and documenting on the web.

THat is what I would like to see from Olympus
