SLR Magic Toy Lens

Anyone have any experience using any of these lenses? It appears to come as 11mm, 25mm and 35mm.

I'm 'toying' with the idea of buying at least one of these and so any comments good or bad would be welcome.

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

I can't comment on the SLR Magic one, but I bought one of the Fujian 35mm (and also a 25mm f1.4) c-mount lenses and it's a fantastic little thing. From the example shots i've seen it seems to be of similar quality, and for a fraction of the price. I'd certainly suggest it might be worth trying a Fujian one for the sake of 20 before taking the plunge on an SLR Magic version.

Some examples from my Fujian 35mm (from the first day I took it out on my EM-1) can be seen here.

It's always in my bag now as it's so tiny you don't even know it's there, and it's always great fun to play with. It really is impressively sharp in the centre...much better than I expected it to be.

You can buy them with a m4/3 adapter on eBay..one example being this one.

I reckon for 20 they're an absolute steal.

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

Just ventured £19.99 with free postage on a 35mm so I'll report back once I've played with it. Thanks for the tip.

I'm gonna feel responsible now if you're disappointed with it!

I don't think you will be...hope you agree that it's a proper bargain!

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

It's due Wednesday so I'll be able to let you know this week. Don't lose any sleep!

Correction to OP, the 11mm Toy Lens appears to be out of production and the 25 is a 26mm. My bad!

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

Well the 35mm Fujian came, was played with and I love it. So much so that I've ordered the SLR Magic 26mm Toy Lens which I suspect will be even more quirky than the Fujian. I can see lots of fun in my street photography with these babies.

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

The Toy Lens, 26mm came and I love the results, so much so that I've now ordered the Lomography Experimental Lens Kit.

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

Will do but the faff of putting them on this forum means it may be some time. I'll likely post a few on my Flickr page in the next day or two and put a note in this thread.

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

I've followed you in anticipation!

I put some more on Flickr the other day that i'd taken with my little 35mm. There's a particularly good Flickr group dedicated to the Fujian too - plenty of inspiration there!

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

Well after the Lomo Experimental lens kit arrived and went back. (The 12mm lens wouldn't focus past 1.5m!) I've just got the replacement from the excellent Harrison Cameras.
Hopefully I'll be able to post a few shots on my Flickr page fairly soon.

Re: SLR Magic Toy Lens

I've had the Fujian 35mm for a while and probably haven't used it as much as I should. This one was taken wide open (f1.7) on an E-M5.
