A Currawong Chorus (& others).

Yep, these Currawongs are at it again (in our backyard & surrounds) with Satin Bowerbirds, Rainbow Lorikeets (or other parrots) & possibly a Wattle Bird.

Click on the image to watch the video (& hear the chorus of birds) in Flickr.

EDIT: Here's another with a telephoto lens (E-M1 II & MC14+40-150 lens).

Yeah, they come around at times, but lately they seem to have been more vocal & in larger numbers centred around our place at times, like here. At least we're not inundated with the sulphur crested cockatoos as they are just noisy as well as rather destructive. Even worse when they have a juvenile constantly squawking for food. We also have plenty of Satin Bowerbirds around too (as heard in the clip) with a male building his bower in the front garden & wooing the females. It is lovely having all these birds around.

Re: A Currawong Chorus (& others).

I've added another in the first post from today with a telephoto lens. I did take one the other day but somehow I managed to delete it in the camera.

You might be able to recover that one if you have not used the camera a lot since then. I use "Recuva", but there are a lot of similar progs...

I recorded that added video on the card (4 clips actually) so I'm sure it would be overwritten now.

They make a nice musical sound, but I wouldn't want it everyday at 4AM!

Thankfully they don't then. Come to think of it, I don't think I'd want too much of any sound at that time of morning. Mind you, when the migratory Koel birds come (& lay their eggs in some unsuspecting birds nest) they can call through the night. Annoying birds.

It must be like living in a David Attenborough documentary where you live, Ross!

We watch all his series, but...... we wanted our own little piece of bush when we bought here, but it is fenced as I'd be less happy if a yowie got in.
Seriously though, we love the Blue Mountains with all the bush around us (we have houses around us too though) although the risk of bushfires is there in warmer months.
