Anyone know about Bees?

Saw lots of these this morning.

Don't remember seeing this type of bee before. It flew like a Humming Bird Hawk Moth ie very fast wing beats..

Anyone any ideas?

Re: Anyone know about Bees?

That first one's a good angle, with the wings bang in focus. Nicely done.

Re: Anyone know about Bees?

Oooh, you lucky thing Andy.

The last time I saw one of these insects I chased it for about ten minutes, but it didn't settle anywhere long enough for me to take its' picture.

These are a real treat.
