Re: No MFT 2x TC

Will the Panny 2.0 (DMW-TC20) convertor work with the Oly's?

There may be a problem with the extra pin as described here http://e-group.uk.net/forum/showpost...39&postcount=8

Yes, that extra pin is in a much different location to that on the MC14, so the MC14 is only compatible with the Olympus lenses, 40-150 Pro & 300 Pro & the DMW-TC20 is only compatible with suitable Panny lenses. The extra pad on the 40-150 lens is 3mm closer to the other pads but the pin on the DMW-TC20 is much closer again.

Re: No MFT 2x TC

I think Olympus are doing mft users a favour by not making one. I brought the FT 1.4 and 2x although I only had the 50-200 f3.5 SWD lens. The 2x was very expensive (I assume its complex to make) and I was forever disappointed with the results. You can use the in camera 2x as pointed out or get closer.

With the DMW-TC20 at the $600 mark, we can assume that any Olympus MFT 2x will be a similar figure if not higher. Quite difficult to see how many takers there would be.

Re: No MFT 2x TC

The old 2x TC has been discussed many times, and with the 50-200 and needs to be stopped down to f10 in combo to get a really sharp result. Not always practicable with the lighting conditions. The new mc-14 is exceptional at all apertures. Just a question of knowing the limitations of your kit for a given circumstance I guess.

Re: No MFT 2x TC

I was never really happy with my EC20 when I had 43erds glass. But then again, I didn't have the benefit of fast glass to use it with (I had the 50-200).

Re: No MFT 2x TC

I used the EC-20 with the 150mm f/2 and was pretty pleased with the combo.
