Question Advice on video recording

After shooting a video with the E-M1 for a friend I noticed that focus would change when the subject moved, and the subject would be out of focus for several seconds while the focus searched for the sharp point. What settings should I be using to avoid this kind of focus searching? Have others experienced this type of focus search before locking onto a sharp image?

Re: Advice on video recording

This is a feature of the EM1! I opt for setting Movie to MF when using wide angle lenses at about f5.6 to f8. But all this will depend on what lighting you have available and how far your subject is moving around in the frame.

Re: Advice on video recording

Hi I have the em5 mark 1 which is pretty much the same, I found setting it up with Continuous focus with tracking, which works fine even keeping focus on a person in a crowd face detect works well in this situation also but a bit slower to keep track as it may jump around if it loses site of the face.
Works well in macro video keeping track of a bee for instance.
