Stuck on the m73

Hi all,

I'm stuck in traffic on the m73 since 16:00!

Any other e forum Scottish members stuck on the road (car park) and fancy a chat? So bored lol!

What's the weather like where everyone is? It's been crazy in the central belt today.

Cheers
Garrie

Plenty of "traffic jam in bad weather" shots to take then, Garrie. Hope you've got your camera with you!

Hope you're not too late getting home.

Re: Stuck on the m73

Looking on http://trafficscotland.org/lev/ there seems to be lots of cars sitting on both lanes of the M74 at the Hamilton Services and the north lane of the M80. There are no cameras on the M73 so I cannot give you any worthwhile news.

Im in Edinburgh and we had heavy snow again from about 8:00am until 3:00pm. Most main roads are ice rinks and the side roads are more link single track roads with very few passing places. I spent about an hour travelling along the Ferry Road . in non-global warming winter weather this journey usually takes about 5 minutes.

According to the BBC Scotland website you are not alone in being stuck. It sounds like you may have a wait a while longer http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-11924238

Keep safe and warm!!

Re: Stuck on the m73

OMG

I've been to bed and you're still in it .. I do feel for you I would be tearing my hair out (I'm not good at patience)

One question in my mind every time I see the pictures on the TV is why isn't it a legal requirement to have snow chains in the UK. We see so many pictures of sliding cars and lorries, and it just takes one to block a road (after which they aren't of use admittedly).

I have to admit on only bought them again after problems last year, but there is often a lane free when you see the pictures of roads

Regards
Andy
