What's your earliest picture

Here is a chance to show your photographic roots.. Have a dig around and find your earliest (presentable) work of art

Here we are back in 1971, its a Praktica L and I am clearly stuck in my patterns and abstract groove:

Plus - just so you can see I have always been a tearaway - here is me from a few years earlier with me Vincent 1000.

Go on.. get digging

Pete

Re: What's your earliest picture

Nice idea for a thread. Early/mid 70's, not sure when exactly. It was before I started using OM system so earlier than 76. Zenit E and standard lens;

Re: What's your earliest picture

I asked a similar question on DPNow a while back, though in the context of digital and I can go back as far as 1998:

Ooh, that is arty :-) You were obviously destined for great things...

Re: What's your earliest picture

I would love to share my pictures taken with a Kodak Brownie Box camera in 1939 but unfortunately they haven't survived the test of time (or the war, 1939-1945). Shame.

Great idea and I'm looking forward to seeing all other offerings in this thread and will try and find a few of my oldies.

Re: What's your earliest picture

I can't find it but it is a lopsided picture of our cocker spaniel taken with a 620 box camera - about 1953.

Oh dear, its so long ago I can't remember. I can say it replaced the Norton 600 and sidecar I apparently had the previous year. I couldn't even reach the throttle on that one

To carry on the photographers on bikes theme here's a photo of me riding Malcolm Newell's Z1300 Phasar in the early 80's:

Re: What's your earliest picture

Not THAT presentable - never could get this scanned right, but earliest I ever got scanned.

Xmas Eve '85, 09:15, as I was off to deliver an Xmas pressie to my then-g/friend.

Just looked in the rear-view mirror as the sun stopped blinding me from behind, and liked what I saw.
Olympus Quickflash AFL - first 35mm anything, and pretty much stuck with Olympus since

I found these that I took in 1949 with a folding Balda or some such camera and scanned them:-

Spitfire taken through the dirty window of a Lancaster bomber
Spitfire from Lancaster.jpg

Aerial mast from underneath in Malta
Aerial mast in Malta.jpg

My transport around Malta (please note, you old bikers, no engine that came several years later)
My transport.jpg

Ah, what it was to be young.........

Bob (perhaps someone can please tell me how to upload these so that they appear larger than thumbnails? Thanks.)
