Making a book

I have been toying with the idea of making a book up of my pics, maybe one each year.
I use Lightroom 4 and there is an option to make a book using Blurb.
I know that one or two folk have made a book and wondered if there are any pearls of wisdom to be gleaned.

If you go here: http://www.blurb.com/booksmart

& download Booksmart (its free) you'll find a much more complete set of tools and options to make a book . . .

I've used the Blurb option within LR4 and am happy with the result. It's worth taking your time and proof-reading several times if you include text. I also find simplicity is key - pages with multiple images don't have the impact of pages with one or two.

In LR you can create a PDF of your book before sending it to Blurb - also worth doing as it gives a pretty good idea of what the finished article will look like.

I used the Blurb Booksmart software to make my book and found it very user-friendly and easy.

PS It's worth paying the extra for the high grade paper.

Also give photobox a try, I use them for wedding photobooks and they are excellent quality, quick and well priced, give me your email and I will send you a referral so you are entitled to a discount or free prints

Thank Steve. No good asking for my email, I am already a photobox customer, although I have not used their book service.

Cheers.
