In the Garden

First post with my E-3 after returning from India (still going through those) I had a coffee break yesterday and while in the kitchen I noticed a lot of activity in our garden - the cat was asleep inside!

The following were taken with E-3 and ZD70-300mm through various windows.

Hope you enjoy

Graydon

Great combination Graydon, E-3 and 70 - 300mm, I especially like the squirrel shots, how far were you from them?

Regards

My teenage son keeps the windows clean for me - I give him many new pence to help him in his bid to save for a new guitar

Yip #1 & 3 through Kitchen window
#2 & 4 through patio
#5 & 6 from the office window.

E-3 ... excellent. Didn't realise how good it was until I took the plunge and bought it. It felt great when I tried one on the Sheffield and Rutland Water meets, but the quality is superb.

Hi Gavin, I was about 10-15 feet away, inside the house. I have a 50-200mm which is another superb lens but this has that little bit extra reach and in good light works quite well.

Wow, Graydon, these are excellent, each and every one. Who said coffee breaks were unproductive! Hope your Gold Blend didn't go too cold!

Re: In the Garden

The second one of the squirrel and the one of the Blackbird are really good.
My cat seems to spend nearly all the time asleep indoors at this time of year.

The funny thing is it's not our cat. She adopted us and my girls love her. She sits with me all day most days but when she does go out she never catches the wildlife - too slow!

Today I put some food out and had tits, finches the robin, magpies, starlings our usual doves and a woodpecker. But I didn't get one shot off as all this happened while I was on conference calls etc. in my office. Of course when I finished each call, there would be an empty branch swinging in the wind or a feather or two floating down ... no birds anywhere!

May be tomorrow.

Re: In the Garden

Hi Graydon,

I am sorry I missed these but been busy elsewhere. A great series of images. Your son deserves the payment. There is no-way I could get these through a window.

Great exposures, clarity and focus - well done. The E3 is a superb camera. Its successor will have a lot to do to improve on it. I have a grey squirrel that arrives on the feeding station every morning and waits for me to add a bowl of food for the birds. Its quite funny when the resident Wood Pigeon and he jockey for best position at the table.

Thanks for sharing.
