Sigma release new four thirds lenses

Just thought you'd like to know. One of them is the 10-20, which is good news if you ask me.

Not sure of the logic behind the 10-20, unless it is "cheap", it is a market segment already covered by the much faster 11-22, and the 12-60.

The 70-200 at a constant f2.8 is much more interesting (and I'd guess much more expensive).

But nice to see Sigma extending the range - wonder if Tamron will choin the party (or will they remain left behind, must be awful to be tied to legacy architectures).

Re: Sigma release new four thirds lenses

Based on the price for other mounts they should be around 350 and 650. While the 10-20 is pretty close with regard to FL to the 11-22 its about 200 cheaper albeit slower.

The 70-200 f/2.8 is interesting, fast enough at the long end to make the EC-2.0 viable.

I wonder if there would be sufficient demand for the 300mm f/2.8 in 4/3rds mount. 1/3 the price of the Zuiko 300mm f/2.8. Add the EC-2.0 for an effective FL of 1200mm @ f/5.6

That is an incredible saving over the Zuiko lens. Wonder what the quality is like though?

Re: Sigma release new four thirds lenses

I was refering to the new Sigma 200-500

see this photo..

http://www.letsgodigital.org/en/1824...oto-zoom-lens/

If it was available on a four-thirds mount that would be 400-1000 equiv 800 -2000 with the extender
