Re: Dew heater advice

I use 1 but I'm a cheapskate, I did it on the cheap I purchased a Velcro heater band off eBay along with a battery holder 4AA's connected them up put 4 AA's in the holders and it worked, no control over the temp but it did the job on my Nikon 14-24mm.

Re: Dew heater advice

Take a look at some astronomy kit websites - they have dew heaters that you might be able to adapt to your needs

Re: Dew heater advice

They might work for a short time.
Not sure how hot they get so that could be an issue.

Dew heaters only get slightly warm and stay on for the whole time your outside. They work best if on before the temperature drops below dew point.

Re: Dew heater advice

Definitely not those Body warmers. those are way too hot. Hand warmers are suppose to be around 40C and are to last for up to 8 hours.

Re: Dew heater advice

Don't think I would risk it. Thermal shock could result in a cracked lens or even fried electronics.

Dew heaters generate a very gentle warming and are not expensive.
