E-PL1 First Images

Well I decided to finally get one, I wanted a walk about and more portable camera than my E-30 so that I could take everywhere and this seamed the perfect choice. I did play with the idea of the Sony NEX, but its so ugly

I just love the size, I was taking a few shots around a shopping mall today with no one taking any notice, if I did that with my e-30, security would be straight on me

So far im very happy with it, I love the new art filters (although just like the e-30 they will soon wear off and not be used) it feels good in your hands and the noise levels are excellent for a camera this size, all useable upto 1600 and I even go to say that the noise is on a par with my e-30 if not slightly better - amazing !

Sorry to bore you but heres a few first shots I took today

The New Diorama Filter I love it

These celtic burgers are amazing if you visit the Garden Festival in Ebbw Vale you MUST try one

Well it looks like you've mastered the menus pretty quick.

Not sure I'll ever warm to the diorama look - but still, it does no harm

Hope you enjoyed your pies.

Somehow I dont think you'll regret buying this camera

Nick

I've had fun with the diorama filter on my E-P2. Need to chose the scene carefully, though, or the result looks silly.

Re: E-PL1 First Images

Cheers Nick, nope no regrets

I found the menus pretty easy to pickup, I have now set the i-auto mode to use the live guide and then all other modes to use the super control panel.

This is a great setup for me and my girlfriend, as she can use it as point and shoot in auto mode and I have more control when I need it

Yes the burger was fantastic thanks, very unusual, a freshly cooked burger with cheese, relish & onions all wrapped in a puffy pastry, will be going back next weekend

I agree the art filters need to be used sparingly and on the right subjects, but hey its all good fun

Good look for railway or miltary vehicle modelling backgrounds

Very surprized you didn't use B&W on the cat

I too have just got one and I'm finding out just how good this thing really is.

I have an MMF adapter coming soon so I will put my 4/3rds lenses on and give it a good outing.
