Automatic ISO

I'm slightly suspicious of using the automatic ISO feature I like to set things like that manually. But I can see that sometimes this could be useful, but I want to know what's going on.

What shutter speed/aperture combination does the exposure have to be before the camera will increase the ISO rating? Does it take into account focal length?
Do Olympus publish a graph?

Re: Automatic ISO

Can't answer your question about how it works it all out, but i tend to leave it on indoors or in changeable weather.

I have the upper limit set to 400 / 640 / 800 depending what i am shooting.

Does what it says on the tin.
