Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008 NHM

Hi folks,

Just visited the Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008 exhibition at the NHM in London. Great stuff, amazing photography! On the other hand I am also a bit disappointed and shocked: Of all the exhibited work, only 1 photograph was shot using Olympus gear (11-14 years category, E-500 + Kit lens, arghhh), showing a misty landscape. All the other work is split between Canon and Nikon, with Nikon taking the lead. No Pentax, Sony, Panasonic, Leica, etc. At least Olympus WAS represented! Hopefully more is coming up in future competitions.

Hi Wolfgang

Thanks for posting this although it is not good news. Do you know how were the exhibits selected? Was it up for individuals to submit entries? A number of people on this site have produced some good images but we are all developing our skills - maybe next time we can make a difference

Peter

Hi Peter,

Yes you can submit as individual. All images are available online, check it out on the official "Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008" website. And yes, we Olympus shooters should definitely contribute more next time.
