Yes thats correct, I think I might make some obvious buttons on the side bar soon to make it clear buyers signup here and Photographers signup here, but thanks for the feedback

Re: The Local Photo

You're right about needing to widen the upload limit. To get my example image to the quality I would prefer for printing, which is to say reduced but sharpened, and also under 2Mb, I had to go down to 50% resolution.

Thats about 1900 x 1400 ish from an E510 which would give about 6 x 4 at 300 dpi, 12 x 8 at 150 dpi.

I figure maybe 4 or 5Mb might do our Oly lenses more justice

Yes totally agree, for printing I need higher res files, its down to me getting the best deal and service from a hosting company, which im currently sourcing, I plan to have a 6-8mb upload in the new year.

Marketing wise, I think this site is going to be big with the news and media and the smaller sizes are perfect for them, it will be cheaper for them to spend 10 or less to buy an image of an area than to send a photographer there, well this is what I have been led to believe from the calls I have made

Re: The Local Photo

It looks like a good idea. Are you interested in 'any' pictures, or the most obvious points of interest of an area?

Out of interest, who holds the copyright of the pictures ... or is that in the details somewhere?

Hi Steve, I've just signed up. Will post some images later.

I didn't look, but does this extend to worldwide images, or just UK?

Thank you, yes any photos, things like signs are also good for the news and media, so it doesnt have to be amazing compersitions, but I would like a good mix on the site eventually.

You retain all copyright, there is terms on the site that you can read through when you sign up

Hi Cindy - thank you

Its mainly going to be aimed at the UK industry, but there is a worldwide catergory to add images there too if you wish, I dont know which direction the site will lead yet, so im keeping all my options open
