Olympus raw codecs that work with Win 10

A fellow camera club member has just pointed me to these codecs that work with Olympus raws (from the OMD E-M1 and M5ii at least) in Windows 10. Seems good value at US$9.99 currently, and there's a free 2/52 evaluation version:

Sounds interesting. Have you installed a copy yourself? I would be interested in .orf support but would not want to overwrite my existing .nef Codec. Can you be selective with which file types are installed?

Yes, I have and it seems to work fine. I can't remember which other file types I was having trouble with before, but it certainly now works for recent Sony, Panasonic and Fuji raws, and my old D300 nikon raws are fine too.

Yes, you can choose which ones to install at the time of installation.

I'm on Win10 64 as well.

Re: Olympus raw codecs that work with Win 10

I bought a copy, scanned it at VirusTotal and it passed so I installed it for .orf and .psd files.

Alas it does not work for me. Only the Admin account can see the image, with a general user account you get the .orf icon only

That's a pain: an alert to everyone to try the free evaluation version first.

I'll put a warning in a couple of other places I've mentioned this...

Was or is there an option when installing it that allows all account users to use it? (It doesn't matter to me because I still enjoy Win7).

Re: Olympus raw codecs that work with Win 10

Hi, I don't quite understand I am running windows 10. I can view all my org files, without downloading or purchasing any codecs.
All I had to do is in manage is select lager or extra large thumb nails, and they appear in the explorer or any other picture viewer that comes with windows 10 64 bit pro.

I didn't get one.

Re: Olympus raw codecs that work with Win 10

I found a forum post that had the same issue back in Windows 7. The reply was rather arrogant and blamed messing around with Windows security was the reason and recommended reinstalling from the other userid. Obviously a general user account cannot install system software like Codecs.

Thank goodness for system restore points as I have removed this software from my PC.

Which camera(s) are you using? My E-PL5 ORF files are supported in Windows 10 (and were in Win8 using the MS camera codec pack).
Various other Olympus cameras are also supported but later ones like my E-M10 aren't covered.
